Woah, two days left in this year’s calendar! It’s exciting and bittersweet at the same time. This year flew by really fast, it seems. Or maybe it’s just me?
I’m posting a year in review, so stay tuned for that. Meanwhile, I wanted to share with everyone these pretty things I’m loving. They make me giddy and stuff. Enjoy!

♥ 1. Dresses with Peter Pan collar, such as these. ♥
So pretty!

♥ 2. And neckline ties, like this. ♥
Adoring the awesome colorblocking too! Sigh.

♥ 3. Pin-up dresses by Bernie Dexter. ♥
With sceneries and pockets! I die.

♥ 4. These pairs of Swedish Hasbeens. ♥

♥ 5. This pair of platform wedge from Kork-Ease. ♥
What pretty things have you been loving lately?
Oh my, I have totally neglected my blog. (For the nth time, hah!) What a shame. Work has been crazy. (It will remain that way; however, work is good, so I’m not complaining.) Good thing I have winter break. Time for some catching up and fun stuff.
Oh winter, I hate your weather as much as I love how it allows me to wear my tights and woolens.
Speak of woolens — here are some projects that I worked/have been working on:

Cabled scarf and beanie for a little girl
Since my last post, I have been working on the cabled scarf and beanie - gifts for a friend’s daughter that are long overdue. They’re traveling across the oceans, all the way to the other side of the world. I just finished blocking them, and they’re ready to go. I’m really proud of these guys, as they’re my first cabled knits. I hope they will be loved.

Calligraphy Cardigan
Another project I have been trying to finish is the Calligraphy Cardigan. I’m knitting it in Steam Age. I love, love, looove Madelinetosh Tosh DK! The stitch definition and the colors are nothing short of amazing. It’s a really wonderful yarn to work with. I can’t wait to finish this cardigan. I’m shooting for spring, considering all the knitting I’ve to finish for Christmas presents.

Ribbed socks
Socks. This year I decided Christmas presents will be socks. Who doesn’t love socks?! HAND. KNIT. SOCKS. Dude, that’s some serious love, you know what I’m saying? Hand-made gifts are warm fuzzies.
What kind of hand-made presents are you giving your loved ones this Christmas?
It’s been over three months since I began working on the Simple Ribbed V-Neck cardigan for my son and the Abalone sweater for myself, and guess what? I’m not done with them yet! BUT, I have made tons of progress, and that makes me a happy camper. So, I thought I’d post a couple of pictures and stuff, because you know, I’m awesome like that.

Simple Ribbed V-Neck cardigan

Almost done!

Abalone sweater

Just a few more rounds of garter stitch for the edging…
I’m almost done! (Almost being the operative word.) I realized there’s something wrong with my math *shocking* so Imma frog the sleeves of the Simple Ribbed V-Neck, and re-calculate the decrease rounds. Sucks, but at least it will look really great in the end. As for why the hold up with the Abalone sweater, well, I don’t have the right circular needles yet, and it will just have to wait.
Meanwhile, I’ve been considering starting a couple of new projects. One will be a beanie and matching scarf for a little girl, and the other I’m thinking lace, mohair, and red… Stay tuned!
Bread has always been one of my favorite food, and it’s one of those things that I could never live without. Buttermilk, honey white, sourdough, wheat, whole grain… Oh I love me some bread, alright. I could have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and not care about the carbs and gluten.
Ok, I lied. I do care, but I love bread so much I can’t help myself!
Because I’m a bread lover, it is but only natural that I find joy in making it. It’s not something I would like to do all the time, but when I do, it makes me feel giddy. There’s something about making it that’s enjoyable, as well as rewarding.

They’re supposed to look like baby’s bottom, according to bakers.

Put them in the oven, and voila!

Warm bread and melted butter… Nom nom nom.
What I like about baking bread is how it makes the entire house smell so divine while it is in the oven. The best thing is eating it fresh from the oven, of course!
It is pretty much what I have been doing lately, while getting some knitting done when I can. I’m not fully satisfied with this, but this set up fits perfectly into what I’m capable of doing at the moment, in terms of time and money. I have these projects planned, but I cannot commit to them, yet. (By projects, I mean craft-related ones.) For instance, I’ve been wanting to purchase a sewing machine, something similar to what my mom had. And if everything goes as planned, I should be able to buy a nice and shiny sewing machine at the end of this month. Now don’t get too excited here, as I have NO plans of getting into dress-making. I’m thinking curtains and pillows, possibly even some aprons. Nothing major, alright?
Then there’s the usual trying out recipes.
Swedish Meatballs in Creamy Sauce

Baked Rigatoni with Italian Sausage

Linguine with Mushrooms
That’s all for now. Recipes to follow. Or not.
